Club Description
Ba'note (Hebrew for "girls") is Brandeis University's brand-new Jewish women's a cappella group. Ba’note is unique in that it is "kol-isha friendly", meaning that its performances adhere to religious beliefs about women’s singing in public. As a result, Ba’note songs feature the group as a whole and utilize trios instead of solos. The group’s repertoire includes Jewish and non-Jewish songs in both Hebrew and English, featuring arrangements by group members and professional composers. The group currently performs on the Brandeis campus and looks forward to both on- and off-campus performances in the future.
This is a recognized club. That means that it can use University resources but cannot request funding from the Finance Board.
