Club Description
After a successful presentation at the Festival of the Arts titled, "The Body Art
Fashion Show" in March 2000, Alaric Toy '00 and Sharon Gobuty (Elkins) '00 founded the Liquid Latex Club. Each spring, the club puts on an incredible body art show that is one of the most widely attended events on campus. Our executive board collaborates with students from all parts of the Brandeis community to challenge traditional social norms, and of course, to entertain--the models in the show are painted entirely in LIQUID LATEX paint!
For the designers, choreographers, and painters, the show provides an opportunity to create pieces that expand upon traditional "art" and "dance." For the models, the show fosters self-confidence and a positive body image while giving an opportunity to participate in a unique body art show. For the audience, the show is opportunity to witness great art, fun choreography, and impressive self confidence.
Membership is open to anyone who displays an active interest in the club by attending meetings or participating in the show. We love to see new faces and bodies, and hear new ideas. Each year our members continue to amaze us with their creativity and dedication to each performance, and we look forward to what you will come up with for our next show!!
Stay tuned for more info for our next show in Spring 2012!
This is a chartered club. That means that it can use University resources and can request funding from the Finance Board.
