Club Description
Poverty Action Coalition is an organization at Brandeis University that is committed to supporting the UN Millennium Development Goals to eradicate extreme poverty through fund raising, education, and political advocacy.
One billion people worldwide live in extreme poverty, which is defined as living on less than one dollar and a quarter per day. Often times, it means lack of access to healthcare, education, food and safe drinking water.
We connect with other universities in the Boston area through the Millennium Campus Network, which joins Poverty Action Coalition with similarly-focused groups for more effective idea and resource sharing in efforts to tackle extreme poverty.
We are always welcoming of new members and new ideas, so please email or drop by anytime if you have interest in taking on leadership and supporting PAC.
Thanks so much, and we hope to hear from you.
