A: A subtitle is a short tagline associated with a news story. It is an optional field, and is displayed under the link to a news story and above the body of a news story.

Q: What are types?
A: News types are a way of categorizing news within a group. On the group news administration page you can view a list of all news items or items of only one type. RSS feeds can also be restricted by type.
To add or delete a type, go to the bottom of the news administration page for your group.

Q: What is the priority of a news item for?
A: Normally news items are sorted by their release date in the public views, with the newest items first. Setting the priority can supersede this sorting and make items with higher priority be listed before items that are chronologically first.

Q: What do release date and expire date do?
A: The release date of a news story controls when it becomes visible to the public. You can post a news story and set it not to be released to the public until a certain date.
Similarly, expire date sets when a news story stops being visible on the main news page for a group. Expired news items are available for viewing by all in the news archives.

Q: What is the difference between a Linked Story and Local Story?
A: Use this drop-down menu to choose whether your news item will be a story that you write or a link to an existing web page, such as www.brandeis.edu.

Q: What is the summary field for?
A: The summary field is an optional field where you can write a brief description of the news story. It is displayed under the link to the news story but not on the page displaying the text of the news item.
