LTS Staff Member and Bartok Scholar Publishes New WorkReleased on February 27, 2009Contact: Sherry Keen, keen@brandeis.edu, x64642 Vera Lampert, LTS Music Cataloger and internationally known Bartok scholar, has recently published a new book entitled “Folk Music in Bartok's Compositions: a Source Catalog - Arab, Hungarian, Romanian, Ruthenian, Serbian, and Slovak Melodies.” This work is an updated English edition of the original Hungarian version which was published in 2005. The compact disc accompanying this new edition contains digitized phonograph recordings of 182 melodies and 33 variants that Bartok made during his folksong collecting field trips. The book may be found in the Brandeis University library under the following call number: ML128 .F74 L3 2008 |
