Social Media and the Expanding Classroom: Exploring Next Steps
Thursday, October 15, 2009
1:00pm—2:00pm
Getz Multimedia Lab (Farber 3)

In addition to LATTE and other text-based online environments, how can multimedia, video conferencing, and social media platforms help improve class communications?

Faculty will demonstrate and discuss their explorations of a range of technologies, with an emphasis on video and audio linkages between classes and off-campus students. Among other things, we will brainstorm about how technological resources might help faculty and students keep in close conversation during a period of potential H1N1 quarantines, and assist in linking students in study abroad programs to classes on the Brandeis campus.

Presenters:
Mark Auslander (Anthropology)
Tim Hickey (Computer Science)
