New Special Collections Spotlight: Charles Korvin collection of Spanish Civil War photographsReleased on February 23, 2012Contact: Sarah Shoemaker (sshoemak@brandeis.edu) or Anne Woodrum (woodrum@brandeis.edu) Special Collections Spotlight's latest entry showcases the Charles Korvin photographs, a collection of nearly 250 photo prints documenting the Spanish Civil War. This collection contains a variety of scenes of war: bombed buildings, food lines, street scenes, funerals, wounded soldiers and reveal the trials of wartime for the ordinary citizen as well as for the soldier. The bulk of the photographs may possibly be the still images taken during the preparation and filming of the 1937 documentary, Heart of Spain. Have a look at the Spotlight for details. |
