New license agreement provides broad access to GIS software

Brandeis has signed a license agreement that allows us to install GIS software from ESRI on university computers. Under this agreement, Brandeis faculty and staff may request installation of ArcView, ESRI's ArcView extensions, and ArcEditor (which allows users to create GIS databases). Our agreement also includes several copies of ESRI's more robust ArcInfo software, which provides greater capabilities for heavy users of GIS data. As an additional service, LTS will install these software packages in Brandeis computer classrooms. Faculty may also request free copies of ArcView for students enrolled in their classes.
